Suggested Introduction for the Master of Ceremonies

Whether it is a member of the Professional Writers Guild or just the guy that happened to be the one at the podium before the next speaker, preparing a short but engaging introduction about someone you might know nothing about can be a challenge. Provided below is a short list of possibilities, feel free to use them as needed, whether to incorporate into a welcome speech or simply used to jump start the ol’ creative energy.

Suggested Introduction:

Through his holding company , NCS Enterprises, Chris is the owner and Managing Director of NCS eMoney Services (TCI) Limited which offers money transfers, bill payments, mobile wallet and card services in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The company won the award for MoneyGram Caribbean agent of the Year in 2011.

Chris is the founder of Caribbeanischool, the leading online learning platform in Jamaica hosting services for a variety of educational and corporate entities. He started the Caribbean’s first crowdfunding site, CariCoCo.Com in 2013, and is part owner and General Secretary for the Jamaica Bobsleigh Team sports franchise. He also does team building and leadership training for corporations under his knowledge based business, Conspicio.

Immediately before starting his own group of companies, Chris held the position of General Manager – International Business Division at National Commercial Bank, Jamaica Limited (NCB) where he was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans designed to increase the Bank’s share of business in overseas markets. Prior to Joining NCB he held the post of Senior Vice-President – Business Development at the Victoria Mutual Building Society where he participated in pioneering the outreach of Jamaican financial institutions in the Diaspora.

Chris is a 4-Time Winter Olympian as part of the world famous Jamaica Bobsleigh Team on which the movie Cool Runnings was based, and is author of the book ‘Cool Runnings and Beyond – the Story of the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team’ a real life account of the team’s exploits.

Chris holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington State University, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho and a post graduate diploma in banking from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is currently a Doctoral student at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies at the University of the West Indies.
